چکیده

The present work explores a novel method of waste heat recovery (WHR) from the internal combustion (IC) engine and power generation using hot exhaust gas (HEG) thermoelectric generator (TEG). This system uses TEGs aluminium oxide (Al2O3), bismuth telluride (Bi2Te3), lead (PbTe3), silicon germanium (SiGe) for investigation WHR generation. experiments were conducted 5.9 kW diesel as source exchanger (HE) with fins. parameters such variation in temperature, rate recovery, generation, conversion efficiency analyzed by varying load on 0% to 100% steps 25% different zones exchanger, namely, zone 1, 2, 3, 4. During experiment, it was observed that 2 gives high-temperature difference compared TEG (Bi2Te3) increases overall Al2O3, PbTe3, SiGe throughout spectrum operating conditions concerning zones. maximum Bi2Te3, found be 6.35 W, 7.18 6.41 5.93 W at while operated 75% load, respectively. Bi2Te3 highest other irrespective working thermal energy-to-electrical energy about 7.8% given load.

Heat Management in Thermoelectric Power Generators

Thermoelectric power generators are used to convert heat into electricity. Like any other heat engine, the performance of a thermoelectric generator increases as the temperature difference on the sides increases. It is generally assumed that as more heat is forced through the thermoelectric legs, their performance increases. Therefore, insulations are typically used to minimize the heat losses ...

Increasing waste heat recovery from an internal combustion engine by a dual-loop non-organic Rankine Cycle

This research proposes the combination of a dual-loop non-organic Rankine cycle (DNORC) with an internal combustion engine to increase the output power of the recovery system by focusing on the increase in the energy input and system efficiency. In doing so, it investigates the strategy of increasing the mean effective temperature of heat addition in the high-temperature Rankine cycle (HTRC) (t...
